Design Checklist: Create Raffle Tickets That Sell
1/3/2025
Whether you’re planning a school raffle, community fundraiser, or year end banquet, the way your tickets look and function can make a big difference. A well-designed raffle ticket builds trust, promotes your cause, and helps your event run smoothly. Before you print, run through this checklist to make sure your tickets include everything you need.
Clear, Readable Text
Your ticket should quickly communicate what it’s for. Make sure your event name is front and center, followed by key details like the draw date, ticket price, and a short message about your cause. Don’t forget any required legal language or license numbers.
High-Quality Logo or Image
A compelling visual draws attention and makes your ticket memorable. Use a high-resolution logo or image that reflects your fundraiser’s theme. (Tip: Aim for 300 dpi or higher so it prints sharp.)
Sequential Numbering
Every raffle ticket needs a unique number. This isn’t just for drawing winners—it’s essential for tracking ticket sales and preventing fraud. Most printed raffle tickets include numbering by default, but double-check to be sure.
Detachable Stub
A perforated stub makes it easy to collect entries while giving guests something to hold onto. The stub is typically filled out by the participant and dropped in the drawing box or ticket bucket. It’s an essential part of any traditional raffle setup and helps keep everything organized during the prize draw.
Optional QR Code or Barcode
Want to promote your cause or make it easy for participants to learn more? You can include a QR code on the body of the ticket that links to your website, donation page, or social media. Barcodes may also be useful for organizations tracking ticket sales internally. These features aren’t essential for most raffles but can add polish and functionality—especially for larger events or hybrid and online fundraisers.
Room for Customization
Want to highlight your sponsors or promote an upcoming event? Use the back of the ticket or available white space to include additional info, a thank-you message, or even a discount for future use.
Final Proof Check
Before placing your order, give your ticket a once-over. Check that names, dates, and URLs are spelled correctly and all required info is included. It’s worth asking someone else to take a quick look too!
